About

The Inside Jokes Quarantine Laugh-In is a live streamed music and comedy experience designed to provide hope, inspiration and a connection to the world during the quarantine season. Inside Jokes was birthed by Hajj Flemings during the stay-at-home order as a result of COVID-19. It was designed to create a revenue stream for musicians and comedians who can no longer travel. Your ticket purchases and donations allow us to pay the artist and create a unique experience that you can enjoy with your family, while we adjusting to
staying at home.

It’s Time to Get Your Laugh On!  We’re keeping it 100 with Couch Concert + Virtual Comedy Experience hosted by Brand Camp University!  100% Funny, 100% Family Friendly, 100% Virus Free and 100% Contagious — all ONLINE!  Take a break from your quarantine routine, which is no doubt getting mundane already, and get your laugh on!

The hour will be packed with music, jokes and a good time with people from everywhere!  Join us for an evening with musician Charity, comedians Akintunde, Anthony Davis, and Vern Sanders, hosted by Hajj Flemings.

Akintunde

COMEDIAN

Since accepting GOD’s assignment, Akintunde has done just that, and consequently, has been nothing but blessed. In 2003, he was named joke/ monologue writer for the syndicated television series “Its Showtime at the Apollo”. In 2004, he wrote the monologues for Comedian Monique for the annual “BET Awards” ceremony. That same year, Akintunde recorded his first live comedy album, “Brutally Honest Live at Right Direction”, and began a national tour under the same title. Shortly thereafter, Akintunde was blessed to re-team with fellow comedian Chris Tucker as his monologue writer for the “2005 NAACP Image Awards”. He has appeared in front of thousands as a performer and host on the Family Expo Stage and the comedy show at Bishop T.D. Jakes’ “Mega Fest” 2005 and 2013. Some of his televised appearances include BET, TBS, The Word Network, TBN and The Gospel Music Channel. Akintunde has also made multiple appearances on the Stellars Awards Gospel Music Show. In 2008, he debuted his syndicated radio show, “The Akintunde Show” and this property has now been expanded through a partnership with Rejoice Radio Network and Broadcast Affiliate Sales.

Anthony Davis

Comedian

Mr. Ant Davis’ comedic roots began during his childhood a “Preacher’s Kid.” As a result, his creative, clean content naturally gleaned from his environment. MrAntDavis started off performing in originally written stage plays in 2002 as one of the original Playmakers along side KevOnStage and Jason Fredericks. In 2012, the Playmakers began entertaining audiences with original sketch comedy while opening for gospel legends such as Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Mary Mary, Hezekiah Walker and many more. Also in 2012, MrAntDavis helped pioneer the first YouTube videos of their kind for AlrightTV produced by Tracey Edmonds. Over the past eight years, MrAntDavis continues to make viral content for social media with close to a billion views by hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. As a solo comedian, MrAntDavis continues to bring clean comedy to the world!

Hajj Flemings

Founder and CEO of Brand Camp University + Rebrand Cities/  Producer of Inside Jokes

In 2011, Hajj Flemings was one of eight entrepreneurs selected for the CNN’s Black in America 4: The New Promised Land: Silicon Valley documentary with Soledad O’Brien.
During the filming of that documentary, he came to understand the real meaning of the term ‘meritocracy’ and recognized that lack of access in the technology space was creating a permanent underclass in communities of color. That experience literally changed the course of his life.

Hajj is founder of Brand Camp University, an educational platform that is preparing people for the future of work. In 2017 he launched Rebrand Cities, a global civic design partnership with WordPress.com with the audacious goal to get 10,000 businesses online and eradicate the digital divide.

He has worked with clients including Walt Disney, AT&T, WordPress.com, Pitney Bowes, Pfizer, the Detroit Lions, and the U.S. Department of Defense, been an invited speaker at Harvard University, Iowa State University, University of Michigan—Ross School of Business, Davidson College, and others, and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Mashable and CNN Tech Money on the subjects of startups, digital technology and branding.

Charity

Musical Artist

Charity grew up in Detroit, a city that’s familiar with wounds, but even more familiar with healing. During blistering winters, you’ll find a community huddling closer together for warmth. Here, early Negro Spirituals opened her ears to music’s ability to connect; the soul music of the ‘70s showed her how music can move the body. John Mayer’s guitar guided her to explore her own instrument and fellow-Detroiter Stevie Wonder taught her about the key of life. At 18, Charity left home for Nashville, TN, where she studied Classical and Jazz guitar at Tennessee State University. A historically black school, TSU provided the young singer-songwriter with an opportunity to study both music and her cultural heritage. Now graduated, Charity now focuses on her music and teaches elementary-aged students with academic disabilities. For her, both are acts of healing.

tempting to call Charity a soul singer, but that’s not entirely accurate. Elements of R&B and funk have a place in the songs, too. And her lyrics spin tales like only true folk singers can, creating images so vivid it feels like we’re dancing across the floorboards with her, feeling the sun on our skin, and living in her tonal daydream.

Love, family, civil rights, feminism — all of these topics inspire Charity’s music. Still, when she sings, “You’ve got beautiful moments,” the object of her singing could be a lover, a parent, a city, or a people. With a voice that starts from a shimmering timbre so playful it feels like a wink, and then swells till even the listener feels invincible, Charity can turn the most understated chorus into an anthem. When a singer sounds this fragile and yet utterly unbeatable, you’ll realize why No Fear is tattooed on Charity’s arm, and you’ll believe her when she tells you music is here to heal us.
